General, senior officers donate one-month salary

The general officers and senior officers of the People’s National Army agreed to donate one month of their salaries as part of the contribution of the Army’s staffs to the national efforts to alleviate the effects of the health crisis at the social level, following the pandemic of the new coronavirus, said Monday the National Defense Ministry in a communiqué.

“In the wake of the contribution of the staffs of the People’s National Army to the national efforts aimed to alleviate the effects of the health crisis at the social level, following the pandemic of the new coronavirus, the general officers and senior officers of the Army agreed to donate one month of their salaries that will be paid into the solidarity accounts opened for this purpose,” said the source. 

This “initiative launched by President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of the National Defense, reflects the spirit of cohesion, solidarity and of fraternity distinguishing the Algerian people and confirms once again the immutable position of the People’s National Army with the people on the same front to overcome this crisis as soon as possible and with the least consequences,” added the source.
